IGNITE Youth Empowerment Initiative is a women empowerment program. It was founded by Obuobia Darko-Opoku in the year 2022, as one of the many projects under Obuobia Foundation.
The purpose of Ignite is to ENGAGE young women, EMPOWER them with the requisite skills and EMBOLDEN them to go out there and change their worlds.
It is founded on the believe that, with the right mentorship programs, we can fuel the birth of a new revolution that harnesses the energies and potentials of our teeming women for socioeconomic transformation.
The goal of IGNITE is to build that critical cadre of young women who will lead change, build communities and champion progress in all sectors of life.
Ignite unveils speakers for 2nd Mentorship Forum The Ignite Youth Empowerment Initiative has announced three distinguished speakers for its 2nd Ignite Mentorship Forum taking place at the SMS Auditorium, University of Cape Coast.
Taking place on Wednesday 8th February 2023 on the theme, ‘THIS IS MY STORY’, the keynote presentation will be delivered by Businessman and Investment Consultant Prince Kofi Amoabeng of UT Holdings game.
He will be supported by two other speakers – Mrs. Mary Amoah Kuffour, Founder of Klicks Africa Foundation, and a Special Needs Teacher, and Akosua Manu, Deputy Chief Executive of the National Youth Authority, a Politician and Youth Activist.

One of my lingering desires, because of the missed opportunities I encountered growing up, has been to motivate and inspire my younger sisters to be able to challenge the narratives they come across in their lives.
Many of us come from very humbling backgrounds, which often set limitations and boundaries in our minds and what we think we can do. It makes our dreams and aspirations appear impossible. However, I firmly believe that everything is possible with the right and positive mindset.
That belief inspired me to engage the youth on various platforms. Yet, I still needed a more sustained platform and opportunity to support youth development, primarily through mentorship, personal grooming, and communication.
That opportunity provided itself when I hosted a group of young ladies, mostly student leaders, on International Women’s Day 2022 on WoezorTV.
My greatest joy will be seeing a generation of young ladies who are ENGAGEd, EMPOWERed, and EMBOLDENed to take on the world and make a difference.
I mentor these young ladies because I believe in them. There is much more potential in them than they could ever imagine. I am on an agenda to help them unlock those dreams.
